About My Poster Designs
What’s been my inspiration since I was a wee lad? Movies. I have been inspired by film not only because of the indelible images on the screen but the memories that movies embed in my head and heart. I speak in movie quotes and got into illustration art because of my fascination with movie poster designs.
It’s no surprise then, that years into my career, I took a stab at some poster designs of my own for favorite films and what have you.
Creative poster design has been really motivating me these last few years and there are some AMAZING designers and illustrators on the scene doing some breathtaking work for their favorite films as fans themselves. The layouts, the illustrations, the colors the renderings, gosh, ALL of the design elements used in a poster really make that form of art appealing to me. It’s also a viable business these days. Collectors are buying artists’ takes on movie posters as limited editions for top dollars. If I had more money, (and the wall space), I might get in on that action as well. In the meantime, I will just enjoy creating my own.
On this page, you will see some of my poster design samples and basically watch me grow in that area of art and design. As I create more poster work, it will be displayed here. Movies will continue to inspire my work, even if it’s not in poster form. Creative poster design is something I’m striving towards and will continue flexing my artistic muscles in. I mean, how cool would it be to have some of my poster designs seen at screenings of my favorite films or posted online by other movie fans?
